As Remembered By Peter R. Stenning
|
I would love to hear from anyone who may remember me. I may be remembered as the one who got compassionat leave to marry my pregnant WRAF girlfriend. We were to have been married in September but I was given just 7 days leave and then flown to Egypt in a York.
We met whilst medical training at Lytham-St.-Annes and were fortunate to be posted to A.AEE Boscombe Down in Wiltshire before I was posted to Egypt. We were evenutally married on the 24th April and my daughter was born on the 6th May. Many friends from the camp were there and, after a week, I took Rita (my wife) and daughter home to live with my family. Sadly i lost Rita 4 years ago after 62 years of marriage.
