2017 ANNIVERSARY REUNION
WEEKEND 8th - 11th SEPTEMBER 2017
The Crown Plaza Hotel, Old Common Road, Basingstoke, Berkshire
Friday afternoon started with an informal "Meet & Greet", giving all an opportunity to meet each other, tell us all "A Tale Or Two" about their time and service in The Canal Zone and receive their Canal Zoner Fez. New friendships were formed and old ones re-united.

Saturday morning, after breakfast, it was a coach trip into Winchester with plenty of time to see the sights, do some shopping, and have a bite of lunch . It was then back to the hotel to prepare for our evening Dinner/Dance.
Guests attending this year were: The Worshipful the Mayor of Rushmoor, Cllr Sophia Choudhary, The Mayoress of Rushmoor, Miss Attika Choudhary & WO1 Keith Weller, Royal Navy
Everyone was individually introduced to our guests during our pre-dinner reception. A formal Dinner followed with speeches which proved to be most amusing and entertaining. We were then entertained until the early hours by Victoria Beebee, who not only sang our requested songs but managed to get everyone involved and many on the dance floor. Both the Mayor & Mayoress were a delightful addition to the evening, taking time to really get to know everyone, sharing many a joke and listening to many a tale. Adding a colourful presence to the whole event was Chelsea Pensioner, Richard (Dick) Payne, who escorted our two young officials throughout the weekend (and our singer), and for some reason was happy to oblige!
