The Signals Centre Building
The heavy white lines bordering the paths were half-buried Jerricans painted white.
The sand was swept by a broom to produce the lines shown in the photo
On the concrete plinth was a reproduction of the Corps Badge - Mercury

The tent lines with the Treaty Road to Ismailia & Suez. On the horizon are the Bitter Lakes and the Canal

 

 

The Southern end of Alamein Camp with the Officers' tents in the corner and the Treaty Road to Suez. The turning right leads to the Globe Open Air Cinema and the 'Pimple', our local hill.

The rest of the tent lines with the Railway Line, Sweetwater Canal and Fayid Village in the background.

Taken outside 'Alex's Bar', Ismailia. Alex is centre front in the photo. He was an accomplished violin player and would entertain with a vast range of styles and tunes.

On his right is Wilf Knowles, behind Wilf is Len Pengelly.

On Alex's left is Taffy Preece and behind Taffy is Myself (George Miller).

All are Royal Signals Corporals from 3 L of C Regt

The other gentlemen are Alex's staff.
